Wedding Flower Ideas
June 14, 2009
Depending on when your wedding is, you might be able to come up with some really fashionable or elegant wedding flower ideas. Christmas weddings are fun to play around with because the flowers are festive and be used in a variety of ways, while Valentine’s weddings are romantic and the flowers are more simple and sophisticated.
Your wedding flowers have to have a theme to go along with, it’s best to decide your theme before deciding on a set flower. If you want to have a theme where your colors work off the atmosphere, then it’s best to look at more festive type of flowers; roses, lilies, babies breathe and ivy. If your theme is going to more original than work with original types of flowers; daises, sunflowers and others like them.
It’s also another great idea when creating your pieces to think about the person who will be holding them, or the location. For your bridesmaids… will there be a bridesmaid or might have a hard time holding a traditional bouquet… could you do something special just for them? Will your flower girl be the antsy type or more reserved and apt to holding a basket, cone or bucket? With the corsages, since they will be worn, will the mothers wearing the them have allergies to your choice of flower? If so, you can let them wear a wrist or handbag corsage.
Then there are the location and placing of your floral arrangements. Will it be moist where your arrangements are, causing the flowers to droop? Or will the air be dry causing the flowers to wilt? Ideas for these types of things, is to plan ahead and before you choose your flowers to be put into an arrangement, know where the arrangements are going to go and what the air quality will most likely be like on the day of the wedding and reception. Taking the extra step of knowing small things like this will ensure your wedding flowers are as bright and beautiful as the day the blossomed. These are just small ideas to keeping your wedding flowers perfect.
Wedding Reception Decorating
May 18, 2009
Wedding reception decorating is one of the most important parts of the wedding day. It is where the party begins to celebrate the joining of the couple. It is where memories of the wedding day are really created and shared for years to come. Therefore, to decorate the area to provide a sense of romance and warm is the goal of every couple.
The most important factor with the decorating the reception area is to continue to use the theme and colors from the wedding. The craft stores and wedding supply stores have decorating supplies to make decorating the reception easier. Using the theme, decide how much to decorate the room. Some brides choose to decorate every area of the room, while other brides use subtle amount of decorations. It is a personal preference of the bride to the amount of decorations used.
After deciding on the amount of decorations, decide the areas for the decorations. They can be about anywhere in the room but check with the facilities to see if they have restrictions before purchasing the decorations. Using the theme and colors of the wedding, purchase the decorations.
Buy several different types of decorations such as streamers, balloons, 3D paper products, party favors, and candles. Each decoration can be used together or separately. Add artificial flowers more variety for the options of decorating. Buy matching table clothes, table decorations, and matching napkins or silverware and small plates or platters.
One of the newest crazes includes hanging a dance ball over the dance floor providing the reflection of the lights during the dimmed dances. Scented candles burning during the reception add a nice aroma adding the comforting smells to the celebration. Place a floral arrangement around the candles to create enhanced romantic mood.
The main concept of the reception is the celebration of the marriage. Make the decorations festive to improve the moods of the guests attending the reception.
